Speeding is dangerous because it increases the stopping distance of a vehicle and enhances the amount of force released in an accident. Speed is involved in one of every three fatal crashes and is one of the most significant contributions to crash severity, traffic fatalities and driving violations, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. But that's just my two bits.It's important to drive responsibly and avoid three of the biggest obstacles of safe travel speeding, driving in an impaired or distracted state and driving aggressively. You’ll get most of the benefit and you’ll sleep better for it. Leave the major bushings work alone and save yourself the grief. They have kits for this, and I can’t speak to those.įor those that basically track the car occasionally, or simply want a better handling ride, I’d recommend doing coilovers, sway bars and the bumpsteer kit (a great investment). If you’re gonna ¼ mile, I think you’ll lose something since you want more travel for the car to squat properly and let the tires lock up. The handling truly is spectacular for such a large and heavy car. If you’re a hard core road tracker and you’re willing to put up with the inconvenience of the install and some noise, this is what you want. They wasted a lot of hours on my car and I guarantee you they were way upside down on this one. They reached out to Pedders on several occasions for technical advice, and we just couldn’t get it worked out for a couple of months. Pedders/Wretched Motorsports may jump in on this noise issue, but I’m telling you FastLane are a large and experienced shop and they had a bunch of trouble with this install. There’s some noise from the rear as well, but since it’s not a big deal in the cabin, I don’t care. Finally, they replaced the control arms with stockers (can’t just buy the bushings) and then quiet as a mouse. FastLane concluded they were too loose inside the control arms. Even after reinstalling them with add’l instruction from Pedders, they still were noisy as can be going over speed bumps, curbs or dips. Finally, after more returns to FastLane than I or they would care to count, we found out it was the lower control arm bushings. The front coilovers were replaced under warranty, but that wasn’t the issue. The shop was as frustrated as I was, but they treated me GREAT! The reason being that we ended up having a lot of noise (creaking or groaning) coming from the front end. I also had to take my car back to FastLane so many times that I lost count. certified to install (JUST ONE IN HOUSTON!!!). T he bushing work is complex and there’s one shop in the fourth largest city in the U.S. Well, they know that now so their inventory should reflect that. They don't keep the kind of inventory you would expect, and then you get a story about the items having to clear customs in the U.S. It took 8 weeks to get the parts to FastLane, and that's with me getting involved directly. Truly great handling, but you give up some ride quality. Once I installed the Nitto INVO’s, I can throw this 4000 lb car into a corner so fast that even smaller sports cars are surprised. I can adjust dampening by popping the hood and the trunk, which is cool on track days. I dropped it between 1.75 and 2” front and back and I love the more aggressive stance. It’s a tire life issue, not much of a handling issue, so I’ll find out in a few months how big a deal it is.Ĭar handles like it’s on rails. Pedders recommended a front camber adjust kit but I decided not to do it. Upon getting the car aligned, which requires a shop that’s trained and with the right equipment to get the geometry right, I found out I had excessive negative camber on the passenger side front as well. Later I had to install the rear camber correction kit due to excessive negative camber due to the drop in height. Installed Pedders Xa coilovers, subframe bushings (rear cradle), radius rod busings, bumpsteer correction kit, front lower control arm bushings, rear end links, and front and rear sway bars. You all were great during a challenging install! Also, a big thanks to Mike at Pedders for being so responsive to my questions and with help.
